Fire department officials set the stage for a controlled burn today as local citizens enjoy the show.

New recruits experience the dangerous conditions that come with the job and experienced veterans stay up to date with the latest fire fighting techniques.

"At no time during this drill is the city unprotected" said Steve Lewis, Public Information Officer for Boynton Beach's Fire and Rescue.

City officials say there is no threat to the community during these drills and the benefits far exceed the minimal risks.
