Caribbean Satellite Network

CSN Tv That JamsIn the summer of 1992 CSN launched the first World-Beat music video network reaching more than 20 million cable households in the US and 60 million international viewers.

Founded by Allan Mason, and Delroy Cowen, this new concept received a warm welcome from record companies and artists who were feeling the programming pressures of MTV and VH-1.

Can you guess the title of the first video aired? Remember it's reggae rooted in Jamaica, where Bob Marley came to fame with -- Iron Lion Zion.

As a side note: Dizzy Gllespie's cameo in this piece was his last appearance before his death on January 6, 1993.

This promotional video was transmitted to cable systems around the world for their consideration. Narrated by Miami Vice star, Phillip Michael Thomas.
